Andy Ruiz Jr warned Anthony Joshua he needs more than”15 minutes of fame” when they met at a media conference at Saudi Arabia.
The opponents went face to face for the very first time since Joshua was surprisingly beaten by Ruiz Jr in the country which will host their rematch, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
“The desire still remains,” Ruiz Jr stated ahead of defending the IBF, WBA and WBO titles he obtained from Joshua.
“I don’t want 15 minutes of fame. I want it to last.
“Two big heavyweights punching each other in the face, it’s going to be exciting.
“I understand Anthony Joshua is coming hard, he’s coming strong. He’s preparing difficult, but so am I.
“There’s a great deal of duties. I’m going to try my very best. I’m going to maintain those straps and I’m going to get them back.
“I’m likely to win here in exactly the identical manner that I won on June 1.”
Four times were floored and defeated by Ruiz Jr to his US debut in New York.
The surprise result ended his expectation to battle Deontay Wilder to crown an undisputed winner, his world heavyweight title reign and Joshua’s unbeaten record.
He previously said on AJ: The Untold Truth he lost due to a”lucky punch – a punch sent by the Gods”.
Joshua also stated”he ai not that skillful” concerning the Mexican-American who beat him.
At Wednesday’s press conference at Saudi Arabia,” Joshua included:”I was up against a good challenger. Andy is winner.
“That will continue until December 7 when he places his names in the air. Two warriors to proceed the best person and war will walk out victorious.
“Being a winner is more than the straps. It is all about a championship mindset. The straps will move up in the air and we will fight for them .”
Ruiz Jr’s trainer Manny Robles stated:”It is time to turn the page. Dreams do come true, but it’s true.
“It’s time to go to work. I can assure the fans that Andy is going to be prepared. He will be prepared for the battle.
“There will be adjustments. Clearly we will be more time to prepare that time round.
“You may expect a better Andy Ruiz. Faster, leaner, stronger”
